It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].
إِذَا رُجَّتِ الْأَرْضُ رَجًّا ( 4 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 4
When the earth is shaken with convulsion
وَبُسَّتِ الْجِبَالُ بَسًّا ( 5 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 5

And become dust dispersing.
وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَاجًا ثَلَاثَةً ( 7 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 7
And you become [of] three kinds:
فَأَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ ( 8 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 8
Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?
And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?
وَالسَّابِقُونَ السَّابِقُونَ ( 10 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 10
And the forerunners, the forerunners -
أُولَٰئِكَ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ ( 11 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 11
Those are the ones brought near [to Allah]
فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ ( 12 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 12
In the Gardens of Pleasure,
ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ ( 13 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 13
A [large] company of the former peoples
وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنَ الْآخِرِينَ ( 14 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 14
And a few of the later peoples,
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّوْضُونَةٍ ( 15 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 15
On thrones woven [with ornament],
مُّتَّكِئِينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَابِلِينَ ( 16 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 16
Reclining on them, facing each other.
يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ ( 17 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 17
There will circulate among them young boys made eternal
With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring -
No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated -
وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ ( 20 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 20
And fruit of what they select
وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ( 21 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 21
And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire.
وَحُورٌ عِينٌ ( 22 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 22
And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes,
كَأَمْثَالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمَكْنُونِ ( 23 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 23
The likenesses of pearls well-protected,
جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ( 24 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 24
As reward for what they used to do.
They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin -
إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَامًا سَلَامًا ( 26 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 26
Only a saying: "Peace, peace."
The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?
فِي سِدْرٍ مَّخْضُودٍ ( 28 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 28
[They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed
وَطَلْحٍ مَّنضُودٍ ( 29 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 29
And [banana] trees layered [with fruit]
وَظِلٍّ مَّمْدُودٍ ( 30 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 30
And shade extended
وَمَاءٍ مَّسْكُوبٍ ( 31 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 31
And water poured out
وَفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ ( 32 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 32
And fruit, abundant [and varied],
لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ ( 33 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 33
Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden,
وَفُرُشٍ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ ( 34 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 34
And [upon] beds raised high.
إِنَّا أَنشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنشَاءً ( 35 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 35
Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation
فَجَعَلْنَاهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا ( 36 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 36
And made them virgins,
عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا ( 37 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 37
Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age,
لِّأَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ ( 38 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 38
For the companions of the right [who are]
ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ ( 39 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 39
A company of the former peoples
وَثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْآخِرِينَ ( 40 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 40
And a company of the later peoples.
And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?
فِي سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ ( 42 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 42
[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water
وَظِلٍّ مِّن يَحْمُومٍ ( 43 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 43
And a shade of black smoke,
لَّا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ ( 44 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 44
Neither cool nor beneficial.
Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence,
And they used to persist in the great violation,
And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?
أَوَآبَاؤُنَا الْأَوَّلُونَ ( 48 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 48
And our forefathers [as well]?"
قُلْ إِنَّ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ ( 49 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 49
Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples
Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day."
Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers,
Will be eating from trees of zaqqum
فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ ( 53 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 53
And filling with it your bellies
فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ ( 54 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 54
And drinking on top of it from scalding water
فَشَارِبُونَ شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ ( 55 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 55
And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels.
هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ ( 56 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 56
That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense.
نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ ( 57 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 57
We have created you, so why do you not believe?
أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ ( 58 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 58
Have you seen that which you emit?
Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator?
We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone
In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know.
And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember?
أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ ( 63 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 63
And have you seen that [seed] which you sow?
Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower?
If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder,
إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ ( 66 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 66
[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt;
بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ ( 67 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 67
Rather, we have been deprived."
أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ ( 68 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 68
And have you seen the water that you drink?
Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down?
If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful?
أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ ( 71 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 71
And have you seen the fire that you ignite?
Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer?
We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers,
فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ ( 74 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 74
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.
فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ ( 75 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 75
Then I swear by the setting of the stars,
And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great.
إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ ( 77 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 77
Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an
فِي كِتَابٍ مَّكْنُونٍ ( 78 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 78
In a Register well-protected;
لَّا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ ( 79 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 79
None touch it except the purified.
تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ( 80 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 80
[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
أَفَبِهَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ ( 81 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 81
Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent
وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ ( 82 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 82
And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]?
فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ ( 83 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 83
Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat
وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ ( 84 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 84
And you are at that time looking on -
And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see -
Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed,
تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ ( 87 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 87
Bring it back, if you should be truthful?
And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah,
فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ ( 89 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 89
Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure.
And if he was of the companions of the right,
Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right."
But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray,
فَنُزُلٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ ( 93 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 93
Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water
وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ ( 94 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 94
And burning in Hellfire
Indeed, this is the true certainty,
فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ ( 96 ) Al-Waqi'ah ( The Event ) - Ayaa 96
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.

  • Guarding the TongueBefore you is a chapter from the great book "Al-Adhkaar" of the Imam and great scholar of the seventh century, Abu Zakariyyah Yahya ibn Sharaf an-Nawawi. The chapter is entitled "Hifdh-ul-Lisaan" or "Guarding the Tongue." The original source, "Al-Adhkaar," is one of the prize works of Imam an-Nawawi in which he compiles and discusses the texts related to what is recommended and forbidden from speech, focusing on al-adhkaar (words of remembrance) and al-ad'iyah (supplications). In the last part of the book, as he explains, Imam an-Nawawi devotes a chapter to what is forbidden and disliked from speech, such as backbiting, gossiping, and slander. So he brings the evidences from the Qur'aan and Sunnah on the obligation of guarding the tongue from evil speech. This great work was checked and verified by Shaikh Saleem ibn 'Eed al-Hilaali and printed in two volumes. In his verification, Shaikh Saleem provides a grading for each hadeeth as well as a discussion about the reason for the hadeeth's authenticity or weakness. Due to a desire to make the e-book a source of easy reading and benefit, the verification of hadeeths have been limited to just the grade that Shaikh Saleem al-Hilaali has provided and the references of the hadeeth sources they can be found in, while abridging his discussions of certain hadeeths in some places.

  • The Miraculous QuranThe first and second articles are an introduction for the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and make comparison between the Quran’s content and the orientalists’ sayings about it. The third explains that in order for a religion to be true, it must be from God in a total sense and not only in its origin then the scholars distort it. The fourth and fifth mention one of the unique qualities of the Quran which is its detailed preservation, a fact which makes it much different than all other religions, confirm that the Quran itself contains proofs for its truth and requires no “leap of faith” in order to believe it, and take a look at the accusation that Muhammad borrowed or stole the Quran from other religions, particularly the Christianity and the Judaism. The sixth and seventh mention the depictions of God and the Prophets in the Quran vs. the Bible and the Talmud and explain the comprehensiveness, completeness, balance and practicality of the legislation of the Quran. The eighth shows the Quran's effect on the generation of the Prophet and the next generations to the extent that it made them leaders of the world to guide people to the straight path. The ninth mentions a unique prophecy which dealt with events completely out of the control of the Prophet or the Arabs that the Byzantine kingdom will defeat the Persian Kingdom within three to nine years. The tenth takes a look at some of the scientific facts mentioned in the Quran which modern scientists, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, affirm as true. Finally, the eleventh shows the linguistic miracle of the Quran and refers that Allah challenged the disbelievers of Makkah to compile a book like the Quran but they failed. The challenge got into very simple standard i.e. to compile a Surah (Chapter) looks like any of its Surahs but they also failed.
