Sorah Al-Fil ( The Elephant ) - Verses Number 5

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيلِ ( 1 )

Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the Companions of the Elephant?

أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ ( 2 )

Did He not make their treacherous plan go astray?

وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ ( 3 )

And He sent against them Flights of Birds,

تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ ( 4 )

Striking them with stones of baked clay.

فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّأْكُولٍ ( 5 )

Then did He make them like an empty field of stalks and straw, (of which the corn) has been eaten up.

Humility in PrayerIbn Rajab al-Hanbali This is a treatise we have written concerning humility (Khushu') and the hearts meekness and breaking (inkisar) before the Lord. The basic meaning of Khushu', is the softness of the heart, its being gentle, still, submissive, broken, and yearning. When the heart is humble, so too is the hearing, seeing, heard, and face; indeed all the limbs and their actions are humbled, even speech. The source of the Khushu, that takes place in the heart is the gnosis of Allah's greatness, magnificence, and perfection.
