Sorah Al-Ma'un ( Small Kindnesses )

Sorah Al-Ma'un ( Small Kindnesses ) - Verses Number 7

أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّينِ ( 1 )

Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?

فَذَٰلِكَ الَّذِي يَدُعُّ الْيَتِيمَ ( 2 )

For that is the one who drives away the orphan

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ ( 3 )

And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ ( 4 )

So woe to those who pray

الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ ( 5 )

[But] who are heedless of their prayer -

الَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَاءُونَ ( 6 )

Those who make show [of their deeds]

وَيَمْنَعُونَ الْمَاعُونَ ( 7 )

And withhold [simple] assistance.

The Rights of ParentsIslam recognizes family as a basic social unit. Along with the husband-wife relationship the Parent-child relationship is the most important one. To maintain any social relationship both parties must have some clear-cut Rights as well as obligations. The relationships are reciprocal. Duties of one side are the Rights of the other side.
