Sorah At-Tariq ( The Night-Comer ) - Verses Number 17
وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ ( 1 ) At-Tariq ( The Night-Comer ) - Ayaa 1
By the sky and the night comer -
And what can make you know what is the night comer?
النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ ( 3 ) At-Tariq ( The Night-Comer ) - Ayaa 3
It is the piercing star -
There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.
So let man observe from what he was created.
He was created from a fluid, ejected,
Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs.
Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able.
يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ ( 9 ) At-Tariq ( The Night-Comer ) - Ayaa 9
The Day when secrets will be put on trial,
Then man will have no power or any helper.
وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ ( 11 ) At-Tariq ( The Night-Comer ) - Ayaa 11
By the sky which returns [rain]
وَالْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ ( 12 ) At-Tariq ( The Night-Comer ) - Ayaa 12
And [by] the earth which cracks open,
إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ ( 13 ) At-Tariq ( The Night-Comer ) - Ayaa 13
Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement,
وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ ( 14 ) At-Tariq ( The Night-Comer ) - Ayaa 14
And it is not amusement.
إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ( 15 ) At-Tariq ( The Night-Comer ) - Ayaa 15
Indeed, they are planning a plan,
وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا ( 16 ) At-Tariq ( The Night-Comer ) - Ayaa 16
But I am planning a plan.
So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile.

  • Your Day in RamadanThis is a useful book talks about how a fasting Muslim should spend his day in Ramadan. This is regarding deeds by which he abides during his day. No doubt he should be eager to instill the good morals into himself while performing this great rite. He should not forget to ask Allah when he breaks his fasting, for Allah promised that he answers the fasting Muslim’s invocation when he breaks his fast. He should remember that it is highly recommended to perform Qiyam (supererogatory prayers at night) to get his sins forgiven.
